Enhancing the Brilliance of Natural Pink Diamonds in Jewelry
Pink diamonds are renowned for their allure, captivating collectors and enthusiasts alike with their mesmerizing and delicate hues. These rare diamonds, celebrated for their extraordinary rarity and unique coloration, evoke a profound desire among individuals seeking the pinnacle of beauty in the world of diamonds. Whether coveted for their aesthetic elegance or as an investment, pink diamonds consistently enrapture hearts, often commanding record-breaking prices in the competitive arena of luxury gem auctions. In this article, we'll delve into the art of enhancing the allure of pink diamonds in jewelry, exploring the expert craftsmanship, settings, and complementary elements that contribute to their vibrant pink appearance in jewelry.
Halo Settings:Â Bringing out the Vibrance in Pink Diamonds
Halo settings are a popular choice for accentuating the beauty of pink diamonds. In this setting, the central pink diamond is encircled by smaller diamonds, typically white diamonds or other complementary colored diamonds. This surrounding halo of diamonds acts as a radiant embrace, making the pink diamond appear larger, more prominent, and even more vivid. It not only intensifies the natural pink color, but also adds an extra layer of sophistication and brilliance to the jewelry piece.

Mixing Metals with White Gold and Rose Gold
The choice of metals for the jewelry setting plays a pivotal role in accentuating pink diamonds. Combining metals like white gold and rose gold in a single piece creates a striking contrast that makes the pink hue stand out beautifully. For example, a white gold band paired with a rose gold basket setting, allows for a captivating play of colors and accentuates the pink diamond's beauty.
Rose gold obviously has a pink hue in and of itself, so when setting a natural pink diamond with a rose gold band, or even just a rose gold basket mixed with a white gold band, the placement of the rose gold under the natural pink diamond makes for a bright and lively intensification of the natural color.
Below is an example of how we set three pink diamonds in a rose gold bezel setting, one of our favorite edgy settings for fine jewelry, while still enjoying a white gold band. Mixing metals is a fun way to add a pop of edge and funk to your diamond jewelry look.Â

Color Enhancement with Pink Rhodium in the BasketÂ
Although most pink diamonds we set in jewelry are just set in a classic rose gold basket, there is a further natural color enhancement option that we give our clients when working with lighter pink diamonds. Clients have the choice to plate their rose gold basket of their diamond ring with pink rhodium, that will be completely under the diamond and invisible once the ring is set. Pink rhodium is a bright pink plating, that has an even reddish tint to it, that can bring out some extra color from a pink diamond.Â

Pink rhodium is not our go-to when crafting pink diamond jewelry, but it is an option to consider when designing your pink diamond jewelry piece. Â
Â
There is so much that goes on behind the scenes when designing bespoke color diamond jewelry in order to achieve a flawless look. The beauty of natural color diamonds is that the beauty is already within the diamond, but setting the diamond properly can bring the vibrance out of the diamond in a special way.
